Novel News:
Twilight of the World Sea People is now a completed draft, and I'm hard at work on revisions. I hope to send the novel out to prospective agents soon. More on this at Imbolc.
Poetry News:
My poem entitled, "When I Arrived, This Is What She Said" is now available in the autumn issue of Goblin Fruit. Of interest, the sound backdrop of the piece contains part of a traditional Gàidhlig milling song I sang with friends at the An Cliath Clis milling frolic last spring. If you're interested, you can watch a video of the milling and listen to the song on YouTube.
Web Site News:
My web site has been rebooted with a shiny new theme and a stronger focus on my writing career. All the old content is still there, but it's only accessible via direct links or the site map now. Of special note is the "Things to Read" side-bar, which points to several poems and short stories available online or via e-book editions the publications they appeared in.
Vegan Recipe of the Quarter:
I posted this recipe on my web site a few weeks ago and thought I'd offer it here as well. It's a super-easy way to turn those crunchy, autumn apples into sweet and spicy nomz. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- A crock pot full of apples, cored
- 2-4 tsp. cinnamon, to taste
- 2-4 tsp. nutmeg, to taste
- 3-4 cups sugar, to taste
Instructions
- Core the apples.
- Add spices and sugar.
- Put mix in crock pot.
- Cook on high for 1 hour.
- Cook on low for 9-11 hours.
- Remove lid and cook for 1 more hour.
- Blend mix with an immersion blender until desired smoothness is achieved.
- Try not to eat it all at once!
