And afterward, she slept for a month.

I'm about 6100 words into "C is for Cloister" right now, and I think it will top out at about 9000 words. My deadline for the story is October 1st, and 3000 words isn't onerous for a month by any stretch, but I've also got a novelette to finish preparing (Grandmother Mælkevejen's Belly) and a revised collection to prepare (The Ruin of Beltany Ring). There's also the monthly blog for PaganSquare, and I've just begun a research-intensive series for that.

In the fall, I'll be attending the Cabot Trail Writers' Festival, the Singing Storytellers symposium and the World Fantasy Convention. I'm also helping a fellow writer prepare mss. for Kindle and hoping to engage a private spiritual retreat sometime in October.

So imma be busy for awhile.

I expect my social networking activity to wane again for a time, and I also expect whatever activity I do undertake to be primarily professional in nature (promotional posts, story chunks, writer stuff, etc.). I'll try not to be a bore. In fact, I am still hoping to post a review of my new drum in the next few days, and if all goes well, it will be my first vlog entry.

In the meantime, remember that the inventory reduction giveaway is ongoing until October 1st (details below). The books are sitting on my desk as I write this note, waiting for their new homes.

Happy Labor Day, everyone!
